It's the same though it won't allow me to move files to the Desktop location

no issues with other folders or doing drag n drop.

On my case, clean install of DP5 wont allow me to move the file using:

cmd+c and then pasting or moving to desire location with opt+cmd+v

Works fine on Mavericks, ML, L etc...

Not working for me as well

I'm just trying to move some images around. When it use the opt+cmd+v the Edit word blinks at the top but nothing actually moves. Really annoying so I hope we see a fix soon.

To the OP...
your commands of
"cmd + C to copy then alt+cmd+V to paste (Move)"
work as expected on my new clean Yosemite install.
I can even move files and folders from Finder to my Desktop.

It started working for me after resetting PRAM and SMC, but I restarted after a few days (because Yosemite was slowing to a crawl -- also new since updating) and it's broken again. This is ********.

It works intermittently here too. Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't.

For example, I'm able to move items TO desktop FROM my external drive, but not FROM desktop TO ext drive. Permissions do nothing.
