Hey MacRumors!

I film a lot of tutorial and talking-head content and wanted to make it easier to chop out mistakes. So I built CutWord, an app that lets you mark cue points with voice commands while you’re recording.

The app uses local Whisper models (nothing leaves your machine) and exports either a finished video or FCPXML timeline for Final Cut Pro. It's a native macOS app built with SwiftUI and AVFoundation.

Free TestFlight invite available at: cutword.com

Looking for anyone who creates video content to test it and share feedback. Thanks!

Some suggestions:
- consider including a notice/information window about the model download (1.62GB) or an option to select an already installed model.
I already had whisper-large-v3 installed twice :)
- an option to adjust the time before/after the command could be useful. From testing on an imported video, it’s about one second before/after the audio.

Really appreciate the suggestions. I'll work on adding a notification if there isn't already a model downloaded.

Regarding adjusting the in/out times by a preset duration, in my testing the amount commands are off by seems to vary widely from video to video (and even segment to segment within the same video).

If you look to the right of the start and end times there's a small plus/minus buttons that lets you adjust the start/end of individual segments. But I'm not sure a universal offset would be useful. I'll keep an eye on it though in case a pattern emerges.
