Just to say Saurik just tweeted to say Cydia 1.1 has been released.

Cydia 1.1: faster, slimmer, and more stable; including an improved search algorithm and "resume where you left off". Available in Cydia now!

Updated, few things have changed, definitely feels a bit faster.

i was going to update this morning but it seems like it removes bigboss source a 4 more.. did you re install them or are they just not needed?

Definitely feels faster. other than that not much "visible" changes. I bet there are a lot of new stuff under the hood though.

It removes sources and re-adds the new ones.

Note: installing Cydia 1.1 removes older default packages. This is normal: repositories are managed differently, and will not be deleted. ;P

I think its because the way sources are collected has changed, so some of the older ones are no longer supported.

I've got a POSIX error on one.

What are the sources that are not supported?

Also, for those getting errors or complaining it is not that fast, give it a couple of days, I'm sure it the servers are getting slammed with the release, just like when a new JB comes out... (and hopefully we have a new one soon too!).

So I give up guys, how do you actually install the update? Do you have to ssh into the phone and install the .deb?

Ahhh, just open up your old version of cydia, it will tell you that you can upgrade...

Not too hard.

Mine wouldn't show the update either. I had to turn wifi off and try from the 3G network to get it to show.

Basically, it shows up in the Changes tab.

My observations:
1.1 is faster searching but the initial download takes the same amount of timer, it just shows you what's it's actually doing now. Other than that it feels about the same.

Thanks for the tip, worked over 3G
