Just went on again and there was another update for Cydia Installer, I'm now on Cydia 1.1.1, gonna see if it removed the refresh errors I was getting.

New Search

How is the search improved? You still have to type in the package name verbatim, and it has removed the package descriptions from the search! I've heard about the new algorithm, but what does it do?

Mine has been stuck on "Loading" and "Downloading Release" for about 5 minutes now. How long does it take?

That's happening to me too, after a posix error

Mine takes ages to update too, Think it has something to do with my other sources though.

i went to upgrade essential as it suggested, the blue progress bar progressed all the way to the end but is stuck there and every now and then will say "POSIX: Operation timed out" or something like that.

edit: it just completed but said it was unable to fetch xsellize repo

Update does seem a little faster. Only thing I'm wondering is why there is still a "warning" for those still debating about updating to 4.0.2

Has anyone been getting these messages after loading Cydia? Should I just ignore them for now or is there something I can do? When I go to Sources and select BigBoss in Cydia all of the packages are there. I'm not exactly sure what these errors are telling me.

i get some of the same errors, or something that looks similar. i think itll go away in a few days, maybe everything needs to get caught up with 1.1

That makes sense. Hopefully you're right and it will clear up in a few days. It's not doing any harm, but loading Cydia seems to be longer since it takes multiple attempts at connecting to what I guess is the older (pre-1.1) BigBoss repo.

Thanks for the response! :)

Anyone know how to switch language in Cydia?

Nvmnd. Found it. Just rename local language.lproj in /Applications/Cydia.app

I always look favorably upon updates to Cydia, a once 'necessary evil.'

Every version gets better. This one is zippier too. I am pleased :)

What is the difference between the two? obviously something or they wouldnt give you the choice?

Pretty sure when you only have a Cydia component or other core JB upgrade available, it doesn't matter which you choose. It is only in cases where another app has an upgrade also, like OpenNotifier has had a LibStatus file upgrade a couple times over the last few days, where it makes a difference which button you hit. Essential upgrades whatever Cydia considers essential, such as Cydia or SBSettings, and Complete will apply any other updates available too.
