Please forgive me,if this is a dumb question....I'm not as savvy as you guys are.

But at the top of the Cydia Home page,it says:

This device has SHSH's on file for iPhone OS/iOS:
    4.0,4.0.1 AND 4.0.2.

Does that mean that I can update to 4.0.2 and my phone still stays jailbroken?

once you update to 4.0.2 your iphone will not be jailbroken anymore.

There is not jailbreaking 4.0.2 firmware unless you have a 3G phone.
Every firmware update will generally remove your jailbreak (except Pwnage Tool using Custom_Restore IPSW's).

Those hashes allow you to restore to those firmware versions, that's all.

That's what I thought, but it kinda threw me for a loop.

I'm not updating...until I know it's safe to or at all..
