Cydia is not displaying the packages I have installed. They are all still there and functional, and I can re-download them and have them show up. But I am looking for a solution to this without having to restore.

The problem started when I edited the status file in var/lib/dpkg to change the version of a package so that Cydia would stop displaying that I have an update.

Is there anyway to kind of way to "search" the phone's files to figure out what it has installed? Something through terminal, perhaps?

Dude this is happening to me too. Cydia was bugging out so I deleted a crapload of stuff and now PkgBackup says I have 6 packages. I emailed the dev but he hasnt replied to my latest email.

    Good lucks guys !

I had this exact same problem just over a week ago. I spent 2 days trying every trick I knew or could find. No joy.

Ended up restoring then re-JB (but I wouldn't advise that just now)

It has to be some kind of a database corruption since it affects both Cydia and PkgBackup.

Just came to me. Perhaps the developer of PkgBackup could tell us where the database/plist/whatever file that PkgBackup reads is located. Perhaps someone smarter than me could figure out a way to re-compile the database/plist/whatever :D

You can probably get hold of him quicker than Saurik.
