Cydia has been working fine for me. Yesterday i got the theme iElegance Pro and now when i try to go on Cydia, it wont load and just goes back to teh springboard.

Not sure if getting that theme is the culprit so i am asking if anyone else is having trouble getting into Cydia since yesterday?

Yeah cydia keeps either timing out when its trying to load on start up, or just shutting down randomly... weird.

Same here. After downloading irealsms, I've had problems with cydia. It crashes on me constantly. Took me about 7 tries to get irealsms uninstalled.

But it keeps on doing the same thing. Very frustrating.

    Same Same

Problem occurred shortly after clicking "update all packages" update yesterday - July 23rd. Any Responses would be good. This is the first forum I've ever registered for. Wow.

    [EDIT]
I've just updated Illuminate as well! Obviously this is where the issue is coming from as I just Jailbroke and only have 5 or 6 different packages.

Mine hasn't been loading for the last little while. Worked this morning I believe. Can't think of anything I installed lately. Upgraded something but forget what it is. Same thing on Wifi and Edge. I remember it was WeatherIcon. Which still seems to be working, but I can't uninstall anyways.

Hmm...made a call, and now its working.

Hmm, the only thing i have installed is the iElegance Pro theme and i had the iElegance theme before it so im thinking this new one should be compatible.
I can SSH into my phone and delete it but looks like others are having problems with Cydia too for no reason so maybe ill wait it out.

There were a lot of problems with Cydia recently and I kept posting my solution and it worked for some people, so I've just been pasting the same thing. It may not work for you, but it won't cause any problems as Cydia will reload the files you delete if it starts working, so here goes:

My Cydia was crashing every time it opened. I traced it to corrupt files in /var/lib/dpkg/updates. Deleting them fixed Cydia. I can't guarantee that will fix Cydia crashes but it has worked for several people who have asked the same question here recently.

Here are a few methods to delete them.

SSH into the phone and type "rm /var/lib/dpkg/updates/*" (without quotes) and hit enter.

Open MobileTerminal on the phone and type "rm /var/lib/dpkg/updates/*" (without quotes) and hit enter.

Use the apps iFile or Discover from Cydia to browse to /var/lib/dpkg/updates/ and swipe the files then select delete, or in iFile select edit, check all the files, then tap the trash can at the bottom.

    ---------------
There is also a thread here with possible solutions, but I can't vouch for them.

What do you mean type it in after you SSH into your phone? Type it where in there?

That's for terminal users. I guess I assume everyone who sshs has a terminal. If you connect with a graphical application, just move into the /var/lib/dpkg/updates/ directory on the phone and delete everything in there.

    If this doesn't work

I am guessing our options are do nothing and your stuck with no further acces to cydia or rehack the phone, I mean is there any way to reload cydia with out rehacking.

My cydia has not worked for the longest time now and I do not really want to SSH my phone. I think I will just wait for an iphone software upgrade and then just jb it again.

Or would a restore and jb solve the problem?

Yes, but using SSH to fix the problem is so much easier.

Agree but like I am not too tech savvy so would not dare to take a chance with it. I might sort of destroy my phone and then once again need to restore my phone again.

So I guess I live with it.
