Cydia - safe to update?

I have an iPhone 3g running on 3.1.3. After loading cydia yesterday I had 10 updates. I just wanted to make sure it was safe to update since I'm running 3.1.3. I'm probably just being overly paranoid, lol

Yes, you are safe. Most of those Cydia updates pertain to iOS 4.0 compatibility.
