Just this morning I decided to update my new iP5 from 6.02 to 6.1
In doing so and setting up Cydia one of the first screens within the process is asking if I am a USER
DEVELOPER or,
HACKER

I've always gone simply with, USER.
Is there an advantage to declaring one of the other two options?
And if so, what?

Guessing it's one of those "if you need to ask" things. Likely will open up more options but for more advanced user.

Cydia actually gives you description of what each of those modes mean right underneath where you select it. User mode only sees apps, tweaks, and themes. Hacker mode sees everything user mode can plus command line tools. Developer mode sees everything.
