Just wondering, I read a review that spoke of radio channels on DTT... which makes me think that it either has DAB (oh please lord let it be true!) or if the reviewer just meant those music channels on Freeview that dont have video.

Has it got DAB? If you are both honest and tell me yes then I will break down and cry happiness. I've wanted DAB since my dad got his Evoke 1.

It does not have a DAB tuner. It's like any other Freeview decoder: the "radio" stations are simply TV channels with no video to save space on the airwaves.

    Hold on.....

Don't be too disheartened -- although it is definitely not a DAB tuner, it does provide digital broadcasts of most of the stations that are on the DAB network. This includes all the BBC channels that are digital-only, such as 6, 7, 5Live Extra, Asian, etc., plus Oneword, Magic, TalkRadio, Kerrang and others.

So it depends what you were impresed by with DAB -- you'll get high quality digital sound and a bigger choice of stations, but not the scrolling matrix that DAB radios have. I think that's the only downside, unless others can correct me. It's certainly preferable to listening to streaming off the net.

ah yes, with your comments and some deep down research I've found that its not exactly DAB but still radio. See I just expecting those TMF or whatever channels that Freeview has. At least when I had freeview it was just like a radio. no image just music like. though I think thats changed.

Anywho this is good. I just want DAB/DVB Radio for BBC Radio 2. love the comedy on there! So it's good. not perfect, but good! I'll get myself one of those little £50 DAB tuners at a later time when I want those extra channels.

    Thanks guys!

shame though... The site I've ordered my EyeTV from doesn't delivery on Saturdays so I'm stuck without my TV until after my birthday (sunday). woo. -_-

In fact, raggedjimi, you should be pleased - the audio quality for BBC radio on Freeview is much much better than that available on DAB. I have both a DAB tuner and now my EyeTV. Radio is broadcast at 128 kbps and 192 kbps respectively. Basically Freeview is better for digital radio - though it does depend whether you listen to it through little computer seakers or a proper hi-fi as to the difference it makes.

Well prepared to be officially chuffed™ :) EyeTV DTT will receive BBC Radio 2.

My set up is perfect for this :) everything; consoles, computers, iPod... all plug into my amp and fed into 2 very nice speakers.

I have my suspicions that my parents took my EyeTV when it arrived and they're keeping hold of it until my birthday tomorrow, and will give me back my £90 ;) . fingers crossed and that!
