There should be NO need to charge battery every night.
To begin with GPS should be an option to be turned on or off.
For hiking and trail I just take out my Garmin fenix 5x and I am good for at least 2-3 days.

What do you think?

I don’t mind it tbh. I have a Fenix 3 that I use for backpacking because of ultra trac mode and can get 5 days with tracking. Love that!
The AW slides under my sleeve and for day to day I would not like to heft around a lump of gear to prevent a charge at night. Second Nightstand mode is the best clock I have ever had on my bedside because it dims.
So sorry I am not displeased.

I have been charging my watches every night since S0 and don’t find it bothersome. We know going in Apple conservatively only specs the watch for 18 hrs.

I agree on the battery life. I can get up to 2 days on my S4 but still charging it every other day is suboptimal. Hope Apple can bump it up to 3 days+ in the new series. I only need to charge my XS max twice a week, would be great if the watch could keep up with it.

I could probably get 3.5 days on my XS Max (96% battery health), but it is bad to run the battery down. I recharge when it reaches 50% or every night, whichever comes first.

I don’t charge anything over night, almost lost our house 15 years ago when our neighbors charged a battery unsupervised and it exploded. So I recharge stuff when I am home and awake and timely take it off the charger when it reaches 100%.

I don’t mind charging every day as it gets me in the routine of charging regularly. It would be nice to have multiple days battery life as a backup to when I might be in a situation where I can’t charge the watch.

I charge my phone and iPad every day so no problem charging the watch as well.

I usually end the day with around 40%. It also takes about two seconds to put on the charger, so I don’t mind.

I'm not sure about 6.1, sold my AW4, but having to drop the watch on a charger for an hour doesn't work. Leaving it on a charger at night doesn't work if you do sleep tracking. If you do any kind of long workout, with GPS and music/podcasts, you are looking at a below 50% watch and will probably have to drop it on the charger during the day.

Regarding phones, mine charges in the car, sometimes I have to charge it, like today for instance, but most of the time I don't make any special effort to charge. If the watch held enough to keep functioning for a week with only dropping it on the charger while showering it would be fine. 6 didn't do this, didn't even get close, in fact.
