I've had my MacBook Pro for about 4 months now and it seems to have recently become a little sluggish even though I haven't installed any programs in quite awhile. Are there any sort of maintenance programs I need to run to keep it running smoothly? It is my first Mac and I almost feel like I need to run a System Defrag, but obviously that won't work in this situation!

Thanks in advance for any help. :)

Duff-Man says...how you proceed depends on a couple of things. For instance, if you tend to leave your programs running and just put the computer to sleep when not in use then simply quitting programs and rebooting every so often will sometimes do the trick. Web browsers are particularly notorious for grabbing system resources and not giving them back.

The other thing is RAM - what applications are you using all the time? Perhaps bumping up the RAM from the default will alleviate the issue, it certainly never hurts....oh yeah!
