    Hi
My boss has asked me to find him all the necessary components to use his 2012 MacBook air with a new Thunderbolt Display as well as an external keyboard, mouse, and ethernet. Here is what I am thinking, will this work?

    • Connect MacBook Air Thunderbolt port to Thunderbolt port on the 27" Display
    • Connect keyboard and mouse via Bluetooth to MacBook Air
    • Connect Ethernet to port on 27" Display

Only thing I'm not too sure about is that last part, does the MacBook receive ethernet connectivity through the monitor?

    Thanks

    Yes.

There is also a thunderbolt->ethernet adapter avaliable.

But being as how there is only 1 thunderbolt port on the Display and the MacBook Air that wouldn't work right?

Yes, the TB display has an ethernet port.

No :). It only omits the need for a display, if you only need the ethernet and not the screen size.
