    Hi everyone,

I was hoping to get some advice for a situation I encountered. My wife has a late 2015 27" Retina iMac. Recently our house was burglarized and the iMac was stolen. The police were able to catch the people who did it but when it was returned to us, there were two light scratches in the screen, and a ton of damage to the casing. The rest of the computer works perfectly fine. I am going to take it to Apple to be looked at, but does anyone know if there is a way to repair the light scratches in the screen, or fix the discolouration/scratches in the aluminum?

I heard that a glass polish kit can get rid of the scratches, and that I may be able to minimize the look of the physical damage to the aluminium with a metal polishing kit. Just wondering if anyone had any idea.

On a side note, does anyone know what Apple charges to replace a screen and the entire body on an iMac?

Thanks you in advance for any help or advice.

Does it have Apple care, you can see if Apple may take care of it for you entirely due to your situation.

    G'day.

Do you have home and contents insurance? I would be contacting my Insurer asking for a claim form or assessor to come and look at the iMac and claim a new one. Get one with the same specs, and be aware the company will take possession of the damaged goods for auction to recover their losses as much as possible.

Insurers usually have a contracted supplier for electrical goods so it may not come from your local AppleStore.
