I really hate Apple for giving us the choice...

I thought I settled on the 7 (had a 6 Plus, still have 6S and 6S Plus), and was very happy with the JB 7, even the battery was that little but better allowing for just a brief topup during the day. Love the one handed ease of use, being able to forget about it in my pocket, it not bothering me when I sit, etc.

Then last night I took out my 6S Plus to look for a photo which didn't sync across, and now the doubt has started to gnaw at me... Did I make the right choice, and should I return the 7 and get the 7 Plus...

No rational reason, I don't care for photography at all... Just doubt that no matter what I do I'd have made the wrong choice...

Damn you Apple.

Rant over.

Hahaha. Once I go big, can't go small.

My problem is that I keep oscillating between the two, with constant fear I am missing out on something by using either.

Like now, currently using the 6S Plus again, to see if it can help me make up my mind. Live it sitting at my desk, couch etc but was just doing some cardio on the elliptical and hating how it was pulling down my pants being in my pocket.

Aaaaarrrghhhh.

If you just get the phone with ALL of the features as the plus has, you will be content knowing there are no more specs to be had, as your already use to the size I believe it's a no brainer.

I was in the exact same dilemma a couple weeks ago. Had a 6s+, and went for a 7 for better portability. The problem is, the 7 wasn't exactly that portable. It wasn't like the SE where one would almost not feel it in the pocket. I still find myself taking it out of my pocket when sitting down, and especially when I'm driving.

Meanwhile, I was sacrificing the larger screen and long battery life. Finally, what did it for me was seeing all the great photos others are posting with bokeh effect. Now I'm happy with my 7+, accepting the fact that it is not a portable phone, and I'll always take it out of my pants pockets when sitting down.

As for gym usage, I have wireless earphones, and it does not need to be in my pocket. It stays with my water bottle.

Went for a 7jb from a 6+ took a week to get use to the size, I do agree the + has a nicer screen and better battery life, I have to disagree with the previous post the regular 7 is more portable and sometimes do forget I have it on me and can"t complain on the battery life. Give it sometimes you'll adjust yourself to the new size.

I had a dilemma with those two and throw in the space gray SE to the mix because it is only $450 and the A9 chip still beats every Android out there in a speed test. Each and every one of them seems to have a lingering flaw. I studied reviews for each of them and amassed 30+ videos for them including comparison videos. I watch iPhone 7 v SE from Cult of Mac and still can't choose between them.

Maybe the first week, phablet size didn't bother me. Just last night, I told my gf that the size and weight is starting to bother me. The 2015 MBA was the right decision for me. I am already overkill with phones. Thank goodness I didn't get a LG V20 either since that is nearly same height as the 7 Plus. My thumb was trying to reach for all four corners especially the upper left and right. I always said "4.5 is my sweet spot and 130mm in height. The 7 is as tall as I would like. Anything taller would start to become an issue.

I think regular 7 is the perfect size or close enough to my sweet spot but it also should be dubbed a 7 Minus since it still has same ppi as iPhone 4, same RAM as the 6s series, and whatever Apple gimped out on. Matte black is the color choice but picking it would make it so slippery (7+ would be moreso). Not to mention that lack of headphone jack on either models that didn't annoy me at first while the boxy SE looks to be the final iPhone to offer it. Each of them have enough flaws to get ticked off by once you purchase them. Then the all new design of the iPhone 8 cutting bezels but going glass (bleh) adds another element to keep you undecided.

Se weight and size with less bezel is ideal. 7 is heavy with the same tired big bezel design. 7 plus is simply impractical for extended mobile use like in bed and gym. Holding that thing in hand is a chore and it weighs a ton in pocket.

It's just preference. I appreciate the larger display and bigger battery, but for me the Plus phones are just too big unfortunately.

5.5" is a completely ok display size though, many manufacturers have screens this large and have tighter bezels and smaller form factors. Hopefully Apple does a good job with this on their next redesign. Even the regular 7 is pretty big for a 4.7" phone.

I figured out kind of the same thing! I had a 6+ for two years and really wanted to downsize to the 7 for a lighter and one-handed experience. But the 7 was just big enough that it often required two hands, too, and by the end of my exchange window I thought, well, I might as well go back to the bigger phone, even though it's heavier. I'm glad I did. I had missed the screen size/resolution. The weight's just a compromise I have to make in order to have more screen for reading and working. I'm also thrilled with the speakers (on iPhone 7 they were a bit tinny, though perhaps I had a device with some kind of fluke sound issue). I must say the 7's battery impressed me big time, though, and wasn't a reason for my letting it go. :)

lol we sound like same person

6 for a month then 6+ never 6s straight to 6s+, tried 7 with an open mind since I love my SE and it was all that was available, a 7+ cropped up on istocknow a week later and haven't looked back

7+ and SE is a great combo, I feel like a broken record player but

if its not gonna be one handed completely, go big or go home for screen/battery/camera/3gb

You had a 6 Plus two years ago, had BOTH sizes for another year, and still can't decide? And went on to order a phone you weren't sure about, just because you can return it easily?

I really wanted a plus simply for the 2x optical zoom but it's too large for me. The larger screen would be nice bc I use excel on my phone everyday but one handed use is a necessity for me.

I always thought the iPhone's screen was too narrow, so I used other devices. When the 6 series came out, I got a 6+ and just started using it. I didn't concern myself with other devices. Still using the 6+, debating on a 7+ or waiting one more year. But it will be the Plus, and I won't concern myself with others.

It's funny, whenever I read threads like these it *seems* that more people lean towards the 4.7" model. However it's the 7 Plus that is sold out everywhere this time around.

Meh, using SwiftKey and the swipe keyboard is so bad to use one handed in the 6s plus. Works like a charm on the 6S.

Then again such a pleasure in the eye using the big screen.

Damn.

i have same problem as you... so i decided to have both and decide later which one to give up... i always miss the bigger screen... but there are times i find plus size heavy...

haha ....
