Hi all,

I got my MacBook about September of last year, so its still new-ish, and this week I've noticed there is some slight discoloration on the left side. Its gray in color and is not really noticeable unless you look straight at it. It goes along from mid-way between the two screws and to the first USB port. Is this a normal thing or what?

Its not worrying me too much, but I like my Apple products all clean and shiny.

Thanks

I don't know if it's normal, but my white MacBook has a lot of grey discoloration all along the edges of the lower case.

I have brand new screens that I replaced myself on both my Macs. Sometimes, if you look at them the right way, you can see dark spots.

However, if the dark spots become completely noticeable, it could need repair. Since it is still under warranty, the best place is your local Apple store if you have one. It then could be the inverter on the LCD display, or the LCD iteself. Just keep an eye on it and see if it gets worse.

Good luck!
