dark mode only change 1 monitors dynamic wallpaper?

I know this USED to work, though not sure where it got broken

but have 2 external cinema displays connected to my MBP
both have the dynamic wallpaper applied

but if I change to dark mode, only 1 wallpaper gets the night view
the other isn't touched

any ideas on how to fix?

Are you sure the dynamic wallpaper is selected on both monitors? Usually the wallpaper is only changed on whatever space or external screen you are changing it, allowing you to have different wallpapers on each space or monitor.

yep, I made sure of that... and they both change throughout the day with no problem
just when choosing dark mode, 1 goes dark, the other goes light
