Dark + bright wallpaper

Dark mode, bright wallpaper : email & map. The mailboxes pane is blurred when the app is selected, and solid when out of focus (it's the same for the calendar app)

it changes the dock and top menu from transparent to solid color.. little to no visual impact inside applications

I mean screenshots. ;) I assumed it works like it does now.

I actually have it on because I hate what it does to window chrome. If it were just the menu and dock I’d be fine with it.

i dont like it its better having dark wallpaper with light theme
I do agree.. Paint3d and bing (in Windows 10) use lighter theme, even if you're in dark mode.. its prettier.

Dark interface is going to look better up against a lighter background. The same way a light interface will look better up against a darker background.

I added another capture with a brighter wallpaper: Books + Calendar

BLASPHEMY!! :D

it looks a bit better in Windows.

Windows
Accounts area is blurred, Mail list is black, Email pane is white

Mac
Accounts area is blurred, Mail list dark grey, Email pane is dark (unless you received a html email which did an override of the background color)

I like it but it's almost too dark. Great for night time or low light use. Some colors I've noticed are inverted and not true color. Example is I had an email with blue buttons in it and in dark mode it was purple. I switched back and forth just to confirm.

I really like the dark mode - but funny enough I like it with a bright wallpaper in the background..

However, something just doesn't look right in the mail app. It almost seems too dark for that app..

I usually use dark on Linux and Windows, but I stopped using it on the Mac. I prefer using light & dark background. It gives you medium gray on blurred areas and it's more appropriate. At least now we have a choice.

With dark mode how is Safari Private browsing mode differentiated?
Would like to see a screenshot if possible. Thanks

I love Apple's version better than Microsoft's. If you go dark mode then go fully, not have bright elements in it. Apple did it right in Mail. The white is so glaring at night.

Anyone know if notifications panel is dark as well again in dark mode?

Yes, Notification Centre is light in normal mode and dark in dark mode.

So far I'm not a huge fan, but I wouldn't say that's my final opinion. There are aspects I like about it - the dark dock and menu bar, different icons that have more depth to them, it looks great in pecific applications. But it makes the 13" screen of my rMBP feel really small. And you cannot use a dark background, imo you need to sue a light wallpaper for contrast.

Some icons and colors look out of place, but i'm sure it will be refined as time and updates come along.

Weird bug where some white backgrounds in safari are also dark. Safari on the left Firefox on the right.
