Hi guys does anybody else notice on ripped/transcoded movies that have been done with handbrake are really dark to the point where its sometimes difficult to make out whats going on...? ive tried using both atv2 and atv3 presets but there still really dark....is there anyway i can brighten the whole movie up...if that makes sense ?

heres a screen shot from the film "the guard" theres quite a few dark scenes in this film.

You sure it isn't just the source material, or the display device (tv/monitor) being set too dark?

I haven't noticed any issue either....

Make sure the ATV is outputting the correct color space for your TV, the setting are Auto, YCbCr, RGB High and RGB Low. Setting this incorrectly can lead to crushed blacks.

Agreed this looks like crushed black issue where the colorspace is being reported incorrectly.
