Here(-ish)
Is anyone else getting an increasing number of Dark Sky false alerts? For the last several weeks, I regularly get notices of impending precipitation when there’s nary a cloud in the sky.

Anyone else seen a similar increase?

Never was accurate for me. Pouring down rain for an hour and never an alert. Next time alert for heavy rain and no rain for a week.

I stopped using it years ago after I moved. At my new location it's worthless, but where I used to live it was pretty accurate — so location is everything. I've had amazingly accurate forecasts at my new location using Weather Underground

I dropped Dark Sky a while ago and went with Carrot. It seems more accurate, and has a lot of options for both the iPhone and the Apple Watch displays.

So with Carrot, which weather provider are you using? Dark Sky is the default option, I believe.

I am a bit miffed why it gets such rave reviews. Dark Sky has never worked that well for me. Similar to above, it can be pouring rain for an hour, and Dark Sky will show nothing. The opposite also occurs where it will say "rain for the next hour" but without a cloud in the sky.

I just keep Dark Sky in a folder for the sole reason of precipitation alerts. It’s forecast data is unreliable.

I use Hello Weather as my default app and Weather Underground as a backup.

While I use Carrot because of the nice Apple watch options, my go-to weather app on my iPhone is Weatherbug. Nice display options.
