Take it back and buy an Android phone, or forever live with iPhone paranoia.
Don't forget to check your CPU type.
Check for yellow tint.
Check for a black blemish where a component is touching, although you may be able to massage that out.

Or just use it as a normal phone and enjoy it.

Or replace it and get a perfectly good one. Thanks for the tips. NOT

OK here's a photo. My iPhone 6 Plus screen compared side by side does not have this issue as compared to the 6S Plus. The more I look at it the more I think it probably needs replacing.View attachment 589322

Mine has it too but how often do you look at your display at such an angle? Zero times for me. If I could absolutely guarantee a perfect screen, perfect buttons, perfect battery, the 'right' CPU and positively nil defects should I exchange the phone then I would. As things stand I have some 'binding' at the top of the screen which I seriously have to hunt for, and a slightly loose mute switch. Other than that things are ok so why risk it?

My 6S has a little bit of this happening at the top left corner. It's noticeable and annoying (even when looking at the phone straight on), but I've already went through a couple other 6S screens that were much worse - dingy and gray across the entire top half.

I hope the iPhone 7 moves to OLED, but until then I'm just going to live with this phone. The good thing is that it annoys me enough that I rarely want to look at the screen - so my nearly forgotten iPad is getting attention again.

Went to 3 (yes, 3) Apple stores about this issue. The first one had no replacements but told me to call later in the month. Went to a second this morning, who acknowledged that my screen had an issue but also had no replacements. They sent me to yet another, who gave me a replacement. However, the new one still has a small spot, albeit nowhere near as bad as the original one I had. I pointed this out and the Genius helping me saw that it still had an issue. He checked the display phones in the store and confirmed they all had some degree of issue, but couldn't give me a different replacement because they had no more.

The takeaway: there's definitely some kind of design flaw / QA issue with the screens for the 6S pluses. At this point, they haven't fixed or officially acknowledged it. The one I have now is better than before but has one minor dark spot in the corner where I barely notice it. So I'm not thrilled, but I'm happier than I was with the last one.

Starting with the next iPhone, I think Apple should release the "OCD Edition" iPhone. It will have a high-end professionally calibrated screen and will cost $4,000, because that is what it costs to produce a display to meet the standards of the OCD-display crowd.
Or they should put an OLED display in it so the display panel can light itself rather than rely on crappy, compromising 3D Touch backlights. Actually, Apple should have never made 3D Touch in the iPhone until using OLED because that way, the force sensors could be an independent part just like on the Apple Watch.

After doing three returns and looking at many demo phones this is my conclusion as well. They all have some sort of flaw and the display is not as good as last year's 6 Plus. It just must be part of what had to be done to get 3D Touch to work, and the display technology is just not ready yet.

I may try another 6S Plus if I can find one or wait until this is fixed in the future. If it is not fixed I would rather keep using my old 6 Plus than manage with the blemished display.

I haven't seen one 6s that doesn't do this, and iPhone 6 devices don't do it. Apple needs to fix this and make a replacement program because I can imagine an Apple Store genius not being able to tell.

That is impossible with a side/back lite LCD screen. I'll be glad when Apple moves to OLED so we can see an end to these yearly OCD checking a 'white screen in a dark room' tests just looking for the slightest hint of screen not being 100% uniform.

Use the iPhone and if under normal conditions you see a uniformity problem THEN you have a problem. If you never see or know then YOU don't have problem.

Amoled is garbage, they are expensive screens and when they break they go black and are rendered useless. Also most importantly, speaking of uniformity, are you not aware of the burn-in issues associated with self lit oled pixels? Also the red and blue subpixels burn out faster causing a greenish hue over time..... Go into a store and have a look at the samsungs that have been on display for awhile, they have noticeable burn in and the iPhones have none.

I fix iPhones and replace LCDs all day. Oem iphone lcds have never had backlighting uniformality issues unless they are damaged or defective but the lcd in the 6s clearly has a slight manufacturing issue because every single one I have seen is noticeably darker on the top.

OLED is lousy!!! That is the same display on the galaxy phones. After a while, the image on the screen gets burned in and never goes away. Just look at the Samsung phones on display at Best Buy, there are images burned in on the screen. iPhones screen doesn't do that no matter how long they are left in. That is why I say OLED screens are lousy.

You cannot compare a display unit to how your phone and screen looks. Those Samsung display units are pretty much on the same image for hours at a time. I've owned 6 Samsung phones and never had burn in issues.

I just got my iPhone 6s plus yesterday. There is a slight black wave at the top bit it is only noticeable when my brightness is turned down very low. Not an issue at all.

But I think this issue may be prevalent across 6s/+ devices due to 3d touch panel.

FWIW, I had to replace my phone twice for other personal reasons, and all of them had this issue. I also checked the display units and every single one of them had this issue as well.

I have this issue on my 6. I only notice it and it only bugs me when I'm reading a book on my phone. Even then, I changed to a slightly more shaded background and the irregularity barely noticeable.

Hi all,

Just got my iPhone 6S Plus and am running a screen test. With a white background, I can see the top of the screen is unevenly bright in a pretty regular pattern. Easier to see if I look at it off angle. The issue is very slight but definitely there. Is this normal or should I go exchange it?

Hi, I just had my 6S Plus last April 6, 2016 and now I noticed there's a TINY DARK SPOT ON THE UPPER LEFT PART OF THE SCREEN. It can be seen when Im using Safari on "private" mode, but it doesn't show when the screen is all white.

I'd like to know if this is normal? Because, my friend and I has the same phone but hers doesn't have a dark spot :(

PLS DO RESPOND TO THIS SO ID KNOW IF I SHOULD GO TO POWERMAC CENTER ALREADY

Thank you & God Bless!!!

That's funny, my Samsung doesmy have this problem and I didn't spend 4000$ on it.

Normal. You can drive yourself nuts looking for screen uniformity issues when you first get a panel, whether monitor or phone. Just forget it.

This is not "normal" I work with several people that have the 6s plus and none of their phones had this issue, mine however did, so I tm returned it and the replacement does not.
