Gah! That's the best they can do? I know the previous model was selling like bottled water in the Sahara but come on. For new customers its good news but I really don't see why people like me with first gen Touches would consider an upgrade as there really isn't that much benefit for the money.

Wonder how much the 32Gb 2G Touch will go for in the refurb store now....

Edit - Ah. £180 for a refurb 32Gb 2nd gen versus £230 for the new 32Gb 3rd gen. I think not somehow, the new device will be considerably quicker so there's not enough of a discount to compromise with the 2nd gen but not enough functonality to justify the expense of the 3rd gen. Oh well, just hope my 1st gen doesn't die for a year.

You guys know how Apple always likes to surprise the customers and audience at their events? well, I was ABSOLUTELY surprised today and disappointed

-Totally NOT Inspired

Yeah, but . . .

the only update for the touch is the specs of the higher end ipod touches

NO CAMERA, HOLDING OFF BUYING A TOUCH TILL NEXT YEAR D: NOOOO!

I would have liked an iPod Touch with 64GB (check), camera (nope) and GPS
(maybe?). But since I don't get it all in one package, I'll still have my decent
12MP camera and it turns out my SonyEricsson phone does take pretty good
pix with its 3.2MP camera.

Since I can now get a decent iPod (Touch) to replace my aging 3G iPod Photo
and a PalmTX, I'll now only have to carry 2 devices (iPod and camera or iPod
and phone) - this is better than earlier today . . . ;^)

My $0.02 . . .

I get what you're saying man, I got a wonderful digital camera myself, but I just thought it'd be more convenient to have a camera built in so I can just hang otu with my family/gf/friend snap pictures and use it as my ipod touches wallpaper or post it up on facebook with wifi around my area. But instead I have to take pictures with my camera and upload it onto my ipod touch befor ei can use it as a wallpaper and such.

I am currently iPod-less should I buy another 8GB ipod? :\ or get a new laptop?
