Yeah, I've been kind of following this product - I'm currently using a Das Pro 4 (Mac version, but works fantastic in Bootcamp as well) but I dig on the contextual lighting.

Is the surface as textured as it looks? Or is this a pre-release product? The photos on the Das site look smoother (like the aluminum surface on my Das 4 pro)

Will the "Mac support" be actual macOS keys, a mode switch, etc? A completely specific Mac product?

This is a kickstarter funded Das 5Q the aluminum is rough and not very smooth almost feels like plastic, but does get a bit cool to the touch. I also find the keyboard quieter than the Logitech G710+ with brown switches.

I've been keeping up with this keyboard since it went on Kickstarter. I've yet to read any personal accounts by owners with delivered units who sing praise for the keyboard. There are many quality control issues. I'm really disappointed because I've liked Das for years. Though the niche field they had 10 years ago is no more since every company has been developing their own keyboards for years now.

For me the only issue I really have is the lack of software being complete.
