I don't know if I did something, but my dashboard icon in the dock seemingly just disappeared by itself. One moment it was there, then the next time I look, it wasn't. The dashboard is still there, I can access it via screen corners.
I rebooted the system, but the icon still won't show. How can I get it back?

As to why it disappeared - you can remove items from your dock simply by clicking them and dragging them out of the dock. It's not difficult to do this accidentally, and this is likely what happened. This does not delete them from your system.

As placeofdis notes, simply drag the Dashboard icon from your Applications folder back into the Dock. No need to restart or anything - these are just alias' to applications.
