How do I get rid of that? It seems as if an item from my dashboard got moved to my desktop...

It is in my way a lot. *ugh*

Help please?

click on the item and hold the button of your mouse.
Press f12.
Now with still the mouse button pressed down move the widget

Sweet, it worked.

Thanks. 🙂

I am still working with Mac, I am used to Windows.

Man do I love Mac. 😀

Wow... I didnt even know the dashboard widgets could even move... Not that I even know how to anyway, not exactly played with it to do it lol.

no, i dont know what im trying to say either... but tell me something I dont already know 🙄

If you enable Dashboard developer mode, you can drag and drop widgets to the desktop. Just click and hold on a widget, and push F12. Drop. Reverse to get them off.
Dashboard developer mode can be enabled with TinkerTools or Onyx (or Terminal: "defaults write com.apple.dashboard devmode YES").
Its quite fun to play with.

Occasionally, it's convenient to have a calculator, a dictionary, or whatever, on the desktop instead of the dashboard. If you don't like it or doesn't find it useful, don't mess with it and be happy with what you have.
