dashboard not a space with three finger gesture

I want dashboard to be an overlay (not a space) and I want to access it using the three finger swipe

why can't I have it :/ ?

System Preferences / Mission Control, uncheck "Show Dashboard as a space".

I don't think you can use the three finger swipe, though.

Use a hot corner instead.

How about turning it into a Hot Corner?

System Preferences > Desktop and Screensaver > Hot Corners.

I forgot they added that in Mavericks. I had actually seen that not too long before posting the reply...
