Dashboard translator not working

My dashboard translator has stopped working. I can choose any language in the 'translate from' area but in the 'to' section it only shows 'undefined' and there is only english to choose from which when i choose it, it says 'undefined' (see pic).



Also I can see the back of the translator even when it it flipped to front view and i can't turn it round to see the back of the translator.
Is there a way i can get it working again?

out of sheer laziness (i'm eating lunch), go to post 7 and 8 on this thread. do what 8 does to the file named in 7. worked for me. plist trashing and all.
