If someone posts some **** about the movement of technology or workflow, or any snarky **** opinion about why dashboard is somehow old and therefore broken, I will personally hunt them down and kill their pets.

I want my weather widget fixed.

I want my weather widget fixed.

No developer incentive to fix it when it is going away. My favourite widget is Delivery Status. Just replaced it with their new app version which includes a notification centre widget, menu bar icon, keyboard shortcuts and a map. It's much better.

There will be no "fix".
Apple is abandoning Dashboard in Catalina.
They have no incentive or motivation to keep it going on older versions of the OS.

I've noticed that other widgets are now "broken" as well.
Again, it "is what it is", and there is no help on the way.

As an alternative, there is a free app called "Weather Widget" that is a fair substitute.
But it's not a "widget" that can be installed into the Dashboard.

I hate this ****.

I hate this **** so much. Apple hasn’t had a single tangibly good innovation on the Mac that didn’t originate from Steve Jobs, and simultaneously they’re removing the good **** they do have.

I feel like a slave, and I am legitimately on the verge of switching to a PC (maybe dual boot Linux - Windows still sucks). I’ve been a Mac user since 2003, and intertia is the only thing that’s holding me back.

[edit]

There has to be a workaround to getting this working.

Dashboard for me on 10.14 is working after I configured it to show on F12. System Preferences>Mission Control. Weather gadget also appears to be working. What indication is being seen to say it is broken?

As of July 7th, the Weather widget hasn't worked for a week on my Macs. Except a G4 Mac mini which still shows current weather. It is the original Apple widget but it uses Accu Weather rather than Weather Channel/Yahoo. Does anyone know if the current weather widget can be redirected to use Accu Weather? I think the current issue is with the connection to Weather Channel/Yahoo.

Ned, once it breaks, there probably isn't going to be "a fix".
Apple has deprecated the Dashboard and it's going away in OS 10.15 this fall.

Thanks, I got that about Catalina, which I won't be using until it's end after the kinks are worked out. My question is more of how and if someone could redirect the weather widget (Sierra, High Sierra, Mojave) to Accuweather. You feel that after a time even the working weather widget in OSX 10.4.11 Tiger will stop working as well. Kind of like NIntendo shutting down all servers for the Wii.

I'm just never updating to Catalina

Fixed! Got it working again with the Tiger version of the Widget and parser file, per @Raging Dufus' advice! Files attached. *you must disable SIP

"Fixed"

I see you are in Canada, and some things (i.e., the "connections" the widget makes to obtain weather info) may work differently up there.

I tried the fix as posted.
The widget worked -- but still, NO CONNECTION here (Southern New England, USA).

The "commodities" widget is broken, as well -- no connection for months, and I don't expect it to "come back"...

Thanks! Works fine in Sierra but not in Mojave. Using same install for Accuweather widget, the widget opens with the splash affect but doesn't appear. Closing widgets shows that it's open, just invisible. This on a 2012 Mac mini.
same here...

I shouldn't have upgraded to Mojave.
