Hi All,

My new rMBP is due to arrive in a couple of days and I have a couple of questions that I'm struggling with, I would be massively grateful if you could all help me out.

I currently have a early '08 MBP, and have this backed up to a Time Capsule. The rMPB will be a complete replacement and has the same 500gb storage available.

I was planning to just do a complete restore from the latest backup on the Time Capsule, but I'm wondering if trying to start from scratch would be better for the machine, I'm not massively IT savvy, and think there are potentially things that slow the machine down and rogue 'processes' ect.

Really, the thinks I'd like to migrate are: iPhoto library, iTunes library, Office Suite, Adobe Master Suite, Contacts, Calendar, Espionage, Clean My Mac, Games and purchases from the Mac App Store. - This type of thing..

How would one go about this?

If your machine is working fine now, there is likely nothing to be gained from all the headache of a "clean install". Just use the Migration Assistant on the new machine to move everything over from your Time Capsule and you will be good to go.
