Data outage in northern NJ?

    not getting any symbol next to my service bars...anyone else?

    Same here in southern NY, and I can't receive any calls, or call any other AT&T phones

    I'm going to call AT&T and threaten to complain to the FCC if they don't give me something outta this, I'll say how that goes in a bit.

    It went back up around 6ish, but I'm still gonna call and see if I can get anything outta this

    My friends phone as well as mine aren't getting any service for the past couple hours. We're in Connecticut.

    Just logged into my att account online and saw this:

    Date:September 17, 2009Time:7:51 PMFrom:A message from AT&T Subject:Network Service Issue

    Important Service Message: Due to a network service issue, some customers in your area are having difficulty making or receiving calls. Our technicians are working to resolve this issue as quickly as possible, and we apologize for any inconvenience.

    What are you trying to get? Why not just be happy it's back. :(

    Because I needed to get a ride home today and I couldn't. I ended up having to walk miles to get home

    Edit: and also, they didn't even admit it was down until 5 hours after the fact, at least

    Well I just got off the phone with AT&T, and the outage is being worked on now. They said they are crediting everyone for the amount that the outage lasted, surprisingly rounded UP to the next day. If you don't get a letter or email about it within a few days, you should call them to get the credit.

    $30 data plan / 30 days in a billing cycle = 1 whole dollar. Wow, you scored big. :D

    OK - so maybe my phone wasn't going crazy today LOL - maybe it was this network outage. Anybody else in Massachusetts have this problem between 4:30 and 6:30?? I desperately needed to use my phone after work today and the dumb thing just wouldn't work!

    It's probably due to the 10% of iPhone owners with hacked carrier files playing with MMS before the official launch date...lol. We are screwed when every iPhone user in America starts using MMS.

    Voice was down for me too. And I needed it during that time, so I'm going to call when I get the chance for further compensation. Also, with our family plan its like 5 bucks a day, and it lasted about 2 days (as they round up)

    Could've been anything, but usually it's when some building or yard contractor cuts a trunk line with a backhoe or similar event.

    yeah mine was out in merrimack, nh yesterday. weird thing was that my girlfriends iphone was working fine right next to me. i called att from her phone and they told me there was an outage and it would be fixed as soon as possible. she said it was not affecting all customers. i found that weird and thought she was lieing to me. guess she wasnt.
