Hi there.
Nice to meet you all. This is my first post.
One of my clients has water damaged their little MacBook.
My question is. Ive noticed that 9-5 mac has a post about a mystery connector on the logic board of 2016 MacBook Pro that Apple it seems have developed a cable/adaptor to enable data recovery from an otherwise dead logic board. Hallelujah! That is totally necessary if they are going to continue to deliver machines with non removable storage. Its not available anywhere i can see but that will happen.
So has anyone any info on this subject please as its inevitable I'm going to be plagued by this issue over and over again in the coming years.
Thanks for listening
Cheers

Hi, Could you please share the link of 9-5 mac which you have mentioned in your post? It’s very challenging to fix the dead logic board. You need to take you logic board to some lab and take the help of technician to fix the issue.

It appears in the teardown that only the MacBook Pro has the connector. Besides, extracting data from it requires the specialised equipment shown in the link below which I don't believe you can buy.

EDIT: I've found a place claiming to sell the tool, though it is out of stock. It is listed as only compatible with the Pros. https://www.thebookyard.com/product.php?products_id=18467
