Just ordered:
15: Hi-Res antiglare, i7, 4gb RAM, 500gb @7200, aperture preinstalled, and a free iPod

question, what is the best method for me to do data transfer? Migration assistant over fw 400 (thats the best my old imac g5 has) or ethernet? A different method?

thanks

Just a heads-up. Do the migration IMMEDIATELY the very first time you are presented with a dialog box to do it. If you wait (and click the option to do it later) there can be issues migrating the Users account.

FW will work great. Just connect them with a FW cable and follow the prompts - but remember - your new MBP has only FW800 so you'll need a 400 to 800 FW adapter plug (around $10) to plug in your FW400 cable into the new MBP or get a one end 400/other end 800 cable.

thanks a lot!
and im using my iomega external hdd as a pass through device. old imac to external via fw400, and external to new mbp via fw800
