I just bought a macbook and I have a 12" ibook g3 and wanted to know what is the quickest way to transfer all my data to the macbook before I give my ibook away?

Does the iBook have Firewire (some G3 iBooks do, some don't)? If it does boot it to target disk mode. It'll just appear to be an external drive you can copy data from.

If your MacBook is new, instructions for data transfer will appear on the screen the first time you switch on the machine. I also just bought a MacBook, and immediately during set-up, it asked me if I wanted to transfer data from my old computer. All I needed was the firewire (purchased at the Apple Store), and I was good to go.

My old computer was an iBook G3. Data transfer was easy.
