I've browsed through several threads re: database apps. There is quite a lot of conflicting information, seemingly dependent on what one would like the app to do. I thought maybe if I provided some details, someone would have a good suggestions.

As part of our business we sell a repair service for our products (various electronics). There is a fixed one-time cost for the service and it covers the products for two years. The customer gets two repairs per year under the contract.

Basically, I need an app where I can keep track of the customers that purchase this repair program. I need to be bale to search the database by name, phone number or the covered product. I also need to be able to keep track of how many repairs each customer has so that they do not exceed the two per year. Ideally, I would like to be able to run a report at the end of each month to determine the amount of money taken in from the sales of the contracts.

Finally, if I needed to view the database or reporting on a windows computer or share it with someone who doesn't have a mac, that would be ideal.

I don't think what I am trying to do is too complex, but I may be wrong, so if anyone can point me in the right direction, I would really appreciate it. It doesn't need to be fancy, just get the job done.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

Greetings. I imagine that FileMaker Pro would handle all your needs and is cross platform. There are many templates and prepared solutions (FileMaker Solutions, but there are many other sites as well) that might work for you. FMP Templates

Another possibility Panorama, also cross platform.
