I usually only have "date added" showing for my Downloads folder, but I just noticed I had "date modified" showing as well - and all the dates/times are the same for both columns

EXCEPT a couple of ZIP files I just downloaded - the files inside have a different, presumably "proper" date modified of a few days ago

Most of my downloads are via Mega - is it treating them as newly created files when I download? Or is it a macOS issue? Could the latest update have both added the date modified view and messed it up?

(Edit: Happening with Instagram downloads too, though the unofficial download extensions are unlikely to preserve the original metadata)

This is happening across multiple file types: images, archives etc.

I see a difference between Date added and Date modified only on files downloaded by Microsoft Edge, but not for those downloaded with Safari or a download manager (Folx GO+). macOS Sequoia 15.7.7 (24G720)
