Having 4 HKSV surveillance cams around my house. When we're at home, two of them are not in recording state. This is triggered based on the location of our iPhones.

My daughter's iPhone is also part of the HomeKit Family. She must be able to control the smart devices here, by using her iPhone.

When me and my wife are away and my daughter, or at least her iPhone is still at home, HomeKit doesn't decide to make those two cams switching to recording state.
The system should trigger the "away" and "home" status only based on my and my wife's iPhone.

How do I setup this case? I don't know the setting in HomeKit or in my daughter's phone...

On your daughters iPhone, try this:

Settings -> Privacy -> Location Services -> System Services -> HomeKit = OFF

Tried this today, has the same behavior. Daughter's iPhone at home, me and my wife away and the two security cams don't switch to recording.

Another clue?

Hi there.
On her iPhone:
Open one camera in the Home app
Click on Settings
Open Record Options and change When Home to Stream and Allow Recording.

I don’t know if she must me Admin (Home Settings>Her name>Add and Edit Accesories) to change that setting.

Tried this, but doing this on her phone, the whole HomeKit setup changes in "when Home: stream & allow recording". Change it back on my iPhone gives the same issue.

unfortunately this is not the solution :(

Another one...

In addition to

Settings -> Privacy -> Location Services -> System Services -> HomeKit = OFF

Let's try this as well (again, on the daughter's iPhone)

Settings -> Privacy -> Location Services -> Home (on the App list) -> Never

I think it's most likely possible to get where you're going, but the art is to get there without turning off anything more than is necessary to achieve the goal :)

I tried this already last Sunday. I missed the Home in Locations services earlier.
But... In the mean time, I'm on iOS 16.0.2. New Home app, easier to use, but a bug: each cam is always recording according to the Home app (red dot above instead of a blue one)
When I check this now as we speak on my iMac (MacOS Monterey), the two cams in the garden are blue and not recording. Because I'm at home, this is the right way, but how can I test this on my iPhone when I'm away, because the dots are always red...

Freezing this topic and waiting for iOS16.1? Or when the postman enters my garden with a package.
Terrible

I already can confirm this isn't the way.
Last Saturday, daughters iPhone at home, mine and my wife's with us, a trespasser in the garden and nothing in the HomeKit section, while the Eufy app gave alert.

Strange...
