I wish they would update the itunes store to 24/96 already. How many more years is it going to take?

Again why are we here in Australia paying more for the same thing, it's not like they have to ship it 1000s of miles, it's a few minutes download on a decent connection.

The US price is $13.99, here it's $19.99AU, that's a 42% increase and currently the AUD is worth more than the USD!?!?!?!

$79/year, but as I noted too you can add 1-2 other CDs or a book etc... and get free shipping that way too.

So, instead of $13.99 you have spent how much to justify your ill thought through argument?

Yep, it sucks all right. Just to ensure some importer OZ copyright holder in Australia gets their daily cocaine and access to more hookers than a HSU union official.

So, I noticed that it says the album is available for pre-order.

One thing I don't get is why on earth anyone would pre-order electronic media?

It's not like you don't get anything for the extra $11 (to reach $25). For those who purchase a lot of books/movies/music it's just not an issue. There's always one or two items on the wishlist if you need to reach the $25/order minimum. Plus, Prime gives you free books and video streaming.

Of course if you only ever buy one CD per year, you'll have to pay for shipping.

I would even gladly accept lossless ALAC from itunes. At least offer CD quality.

iTunes really need to start doing this. If they can offer 1080p video for streaming/download then they can offer CD quality music at least.

The album is great, but 2 or 3 songs too long. Could have dumped 'How Does The Grass Grow' and 'Set The World On Fire' and it would have been a classic. Those songs are useless filler.

My guess is that he is a collector. Collectors tend to prefer vinyl. A nice vinyl collection always looks cool on a shelf.

Nope, vinyl sounds better if the record itself is analog.

My experience with both vinyl and digital recordings is that vinyl sounded a lot better

Yeah, like they're expecting a shortage of electrons on release day?

I think it's pretty awesome to be able to listen to a whole album free before deciding to purchase.

Yes it is!

Just finished listening and have to say this is a really great album for Bowie.

Agreed. It's feels like a bunch of his past (and maybe future?) personas got together and partied. :)

You know, I think he really fooled us all with the release of, "Where Are We Now?" on Jan 8th. It's a lovely tune, but it's also a slow, poignant look back at his heyday. It felt like his swan song. His last breath. Even the critics said his voice sounded frail.

And then a month later he comes flying out of the gates with the full album! Like he's never been away. Masterful.
