The multi-day Consumer Electronics Show is continuing on this week and MacRumors videographer Dan Barbera is in Las Vegas to check out all of the new products. Our day 2 roundup features new hardware from Dyson and LG, along with a handful of new Apple products shown off at the Pepcom event.

LG has a fancy new 97-inch TV that uses "zero connect" technology for wireless audio and video transmission. It only needs to be plugged into the wall, with all of the other components like set-top boxes, sound bars, and more able to be located elsewhere and transmitted to the TV wirelessly.

Dyson was showing off its $949 Dyson Zone headphones and personal air purifier, which looks absolutely ridiculous but offers great noise cancellation technology. The air purification visor is detachable and connects to the headphones via magnets, and Dyson intends for it to be used in situations where there's poor air quality, or a lot of crowds, like a subway.

Ember has a new mug with Find My support for tracking the cup down if it gets lost or misplaced, OtterBox demoed a portable MagSafe dock for the iPhone and Apple Watch, Eve showed off new roller shades, and OWC demoed the first Thunderbolt 4 dock with integrated power supply.

Make sure to watch our video up above to see all of the products that Dan came across, and check out our Day 1 video too. If you want to know more about what's new at CES, we have a dedicated CES 2023 hub with all of our coverage.

$949 headphones? 🤣

And here I thought Apple's AirPods Max at $549 was overpriced.

Now you can both look and feel foolish walking around with these $949 Dyson's 🤣

Are $549 Apple AirPods Max overpriced? They are only if you cant afford them
Whether or not I can afford them is not the issue. It's the fact that you can buy just-as-good headphones from Bose (700) or Sony (WH-1000XM4 or WH-1000XM5) for at least $150 less. So in that regard, yes, I say they're overpriced as I don't think the AirPods Max are $150 better than what Bose or Sony offer.

This has been tried before; my father-in-law bought a wireless TV against the advice of pretty much everybody he asked, including me. (I was pushing for a projector -- but perhaps that's another debate entirely.) There is always some amount of latency with wireless signals, so "wireless" TVs are an absolute non-starter for any kind of fast paced gaming. Additionally, if you're using an external sound system, you still have to pipe all of the audio through the TV in order to sync up the sound to the video. But those weren't actually the most significant disadvantages of the product: It wasn't long before the wireless signal started degrading for unknown reasons; so, no matter where he put that transmitter box, watching shows on it was ultimately a crap experience.

Wireless can be beneficial in a lot of scenarios. Set-top-box to TV screen isn't one of them.

Thinking different --that's for sure but I could see these being an almost instant sale for anyone who is really sensitive to air quality and allergens. Some people literally get trapped indoors because of air quality.

I wonder if they had to go with headphones just to deal with the noise of fans moving purified air? Otherwise, maybe a cheaper model with less features?

Haha “Zero Connect”. Maybe not the best product name. I see where they are going with it now but I initially thought it was just the screen with no internet.

How much connection does it have???Zero!!!

If LG's "zero-connect" works as advertised, that would be really awesome. The power cables would be the only remaining tethers.
Errr I’d rather have a zero networked TV (a monitor if you will) as I’ll use my device of choice (a non google, LG, Samsung etc) data harvesting smart TV. These TVs are almost just loss leaders for “corporate creepware”. A hdmi port, usb-c and a power socket is all that’s needed. Firmware updates? There would be less of them using KISS principles or delivered by usb/AppleTV

Not sure about a “zero connect” tv. Soundbars already have a ton of lag when connected via HDMI.

Maybe it was inevitable that all those dystopian movies that come out over the last 40-50 years would actually become a reality. They were supposed to be warnings. (Speaking mostly of the Dyson thing)

Can't wait to purchase the Dyson headphones. As someone very sensitive to air pollution that results in breathing difficulties, this looks very promising. Noise cancelling headphones as well, will almost make the commute enjoyable.
