Daylight savings time on cameras

i have to reset the times on my cameras manually. i don't think i've ever had a camera change automatically for the time change.
The days of DST time changes are different based on the countries and they also change the dates from time to time depending on our atomic clock sync years. So unless a device is directly connected to the internet it’s impossible to deterministically change the time based on date and time zone.

My Canon doesn’t adjust for daylight savings time either even though I have the option checked as well.
Pretty sure if you uncheck that box the time will drop back an hour. Either that or your cameras 'think' the changeover happens on 11/7/21.
Wow to think that I and many others: Focused by hand, set our ƒ-stop by hand, set our shutter speed by hand. Co-ordinated ƒ-stop, shutter and film speed to readings from a hand held meter. And believe it or not, even calculated how much to compensate for bellows extension and long shutter speeds.
Even now I adjust about 10 clocks every time we change over. So you'll forgive me if I have some difficulty wrapping my brain around how setting a camera clock back an hour is some sort of imposition.
EDIT: OMG Forgot all about using flash guide numbers and subject distance to set the ƒ-stop for flash shots, then remembering to select a shutter speed that was appropriate when using focal plane shutters.

I also thought the issue was that I am currently in Europe where the clocks went back an hour last Sunday and that if I was in the US it would have changed correctly this Sunday.
If I am shooting with two cameras, I often have shift one an hour either direction because invariably I forget to change the time on one.
I usually don't care the exact time I've shot, unless I'm trying to align two cameras to a vacation trip. The date is important to me, but rarely the exact hour, although for events I see it is a crucial function to have the exact time. Just for me personally it usually isn't a big deal.

This Sunday one of my projects will be getting out the cameras and changing from Daylight Savings to Easter Standard Time again.....no big deal to "fall backward". I tend not to pay much attention to either the time or date a particular image was shot unless there is some particular reason to do so. Even so, I still like having the information recorded accurately by the camera(s) at the time of shooting.
In the house I have a few clocks to adjust, but my computers, iPads and iPhones all take care of themselves. Also the clock in my car does as well, which is rather nice!

Nor did my previous 2006 Acura RSX..... It was a real thrill to realize last year that I didn't have to get out the manual and figure out how to tinker with the clock settings in my 2021 Honda Civic Sports Hatchback. She just did things automatically.....
2021? That's a fancy car I bet. Car play and the rest of the works. I wish mine had Car Play.
Yes, my new (well, now year-old) car has CarPlay, but I tend to use just plain old BT to play my iTunes library on my iPhone when simply driving around locally, running short errands. It just doesn't make sense to me to have to plug in the phone, then a few moments later unplug it in order to go into a store or wherever, and then once back in the car, plugging in the phone again for another short drive before stopping. CarPlay is really great on trips, though!
What's DST? I live in Arizona where we don't have to futz around with the time twice a year. It's called "civilization".
It’s the abbreviation for daylight savings time. I agree, this whole moving the clocks back and forwards is ridiculous.

Anyway I never bother changing my cameras over. They might be correct or not at this time of the year. I suppose it’s a 50/50. They are both set the same though. Although it’s years since I’ve been out with two bodies. I tend to just change the lens these days.

I seem to recall that the "Daylight Savings Time" toggle at least on my older Nikons doesn't tell the camera to change automatically for DST.
Rather, when you check it, it moves the clock back an hour, and when you uncheck it, it move the clock forward an hour.
In other words, it's a setting to change for DST, but it has to be triggered(and untriggered) manually...

Yeah, I know what it is. I was being facetious, as it's one of the most inane inventions of mankind... and I live in a state where we aren't bothered by such foolishness.
For years we had an Indian elder who every six months would take a moment to inform the press:
'Only a white man would think that by cutting one end off a blanket and sewing it onto the other end, he could make the blanket longer.'
'Course he didn't have a fancy Harvard degree so his wise words are still ignored to this very day.
I am sure some camera manufacturers figured out how add or subtract an hour, but not automatically.
Now I have to go out and try to remember how to change the time on my motorcycle and old MB SUV.
