I've been using Dayone (now version 2) for a few years on my Mac and iPhone. The issue now, is that this app alone stored 4GB of data locally on my iPhone and it cannot be stored elsewhere.

As such, I'm either going to have to delete years of entries or look for an alternative where all data can be stored in the cloud.

Can anyone recommend an app as powerful as Dayone that stores ALL data on the cloud? Must be available for Mac and iPhone

I would never want to part with entries to my diary. Day One is pretty awesome, I haven't found anything that comes close. Besides, even if, how long would that other software be on the market for? At least DAy One is established and won't go away over night. Would it not be easier to just get a bigger device the next time? Most new iOS devices offer 128 GB options.

You say it can not be stored elsewhere:
What abut 'sync'? You could sync the data to another device both iOS or Mac OS.
You could also 'export' as a PDF file then delete that data if you did not want to keep it within Day One.

When it comes to data as personal as this I would not want it stored in the cloud, but I understand we each have different preferences.

Regardless, that 4GB file is only going to get bigger and bigger (just like a normal diary/journal book would do), so the longer you leave this issue the harder it is going to get.

Text Expander works fine in Day One.

Thing is that TextExpander is going subscription now :(
