Hi all!

New to this forum and new to Mac (used to Unix and win)

I'm trying to nuke my drives with DBAN from USB.
The USB-flashdrive works fine on a PC and boot's correctly but it will NOT boot on my macs?

It's a Mac Pro 3.1 and the other one is a Mac Pro 4.1.

And no, i do not wish to use the built in DiskUtil..

Any ideas what the issue might be?

What are the symptoms for it not being bootable? You hold down the ALT/OPTION key and the USB drive is not listed? Do you see it listed in System Preferences, Startup Disk? Do you see it in OS X at all?

Hi, not visable when holding neither alt/option not "c".. Not visable as startup disk in systempref.. Although listed in finder and looks good There..

This has happened to me too when I've made a bootable USB from an ISO...it works on PCs but not my Macs.

But I'm not familiar with DBAN, is it a bootable lunix ISO? If so, you probably just need to remake the bootable USB in OS X. I haven't used DBAN, but that has worked for me with other ISOs.
