Dead AppleTV?

Well my TV has been fine since I got it. I will confess I normally just hard power it off at night as I was sick of leaving it on all the time.

When I powered it on this morning, I just get a blinking orange light. I don't get any video output over HDMI either. I've tried a few more power cycles without much joy.

It isn't modded in anyway, and is under a year old so I presume I could take it back to Apple. But does anyone have any easier suggestions?

Try a factory restore.

I would, but how do you do that without being able to boot it?

I tried the menu and hold "-" on the remote and it didn't seem to do anything.

I'd try unplugging it and plugging it back in again. If that doesn't fix it, and it's still under warranty, take it back.

In that case, let Apple fix it.
