Hi all,

Battery is dead and can't get a replacement for a week. Have tried everything listed here regarding the removal of kexts to stop throttling, but does anyone else have any ideas on how to do it, as this doesn't work?

Presumed it was a Mountain Lion thang as people reporting success with 10.7.

AFAIK, there is no way to stop it. I'd say live with it for a week instead of risking your system, i.e., corrupting the OS. Its doing what its designed to do, run 1/2 speed when there's no battery present.
