Dead battery

My Macbook's battery has been dead for over 2 years and ever since i've had to keep my laptop plugged in. I use it several hours a day and replacing the battery is not happening for a while. Question is, is it safe to remove the battery and just continue to use the magsafe?

Yes, it is "safe." However the processor is throttled.
