Hi All,

Last night my girlfriend's MacBook decided to "die". Apparently it froze up and wouldn't respond to any key presses etc, she removed the battery to force it off and then replaced the battery and attempted to power it up.

As you can probably guess the laptop did not turn back on, pressing the power button has no effect, no sounds or sign of life come from it. Oddly when plugging the AC adapter in the battery still seems to charge.

Any ideas before I trott it down to Apple?

Thanks,
Matt.

Hi Gr8tfly,

No luck unfortunately. Apple have said it's likely to be the logic board and want to charge £380 to repair it! Not sure it is worth repairing at that price to be honest :(

Matt.

Look at ebay prices if you don't know whether it's worth it. I suppose it's about the worth of the laptop itself, so that would be a no. You could probably get a better Mac for little more.
