I have a MagSafe battery pack (The "official" one from Apple) that I bought a few months ago. I've used it only 4-5 times in full charge cycles. I left it attached to an old iPhone 12 mini in the drawer which both slowly drained in standby mode.

Today I went to charge it up, the phone is fine, but the MagSafe battery refuses to charge or even passthrough charge. When I plug in an official apple 20w adapter and lightning cable, the LED does nothing. I've left it plugged in for an hour and tried repluging it in and the LED is still doing nothing. I also tried plugging in my phone with the battery pack attached to see if reverse wireless would work...it doesn't. The device shows up in the battery widget with 0% charge.

Is it possible the battery went kaput already with so few cycles? Or is there some secret jumpstart sequence I need to do to recover from a completely dead battery? Either way I'll be contacting apple support to see what they say about it since it should still be under warranty.

If it doesn’t start back up after a few hours connected to the charger, it is dead
