Dead mother board or IO board?

Hi,

I've a MacBook Pro Santa Rosa. It suddenly doesn't work at all. "No power no video". I tested everything that is suggested in the Service Source and it appears that either the mother board or the IO board is dead.

Am I right saying that the IO board is OK, if the computer is still able to charge the battery from the plug?

I know about that, it's my third mother board for that reasons. But this time, it doesn't turn on at all.
