Is it possible to cure a dead pixel? Will it go away over time?

No cure, and no, they don't go away either...If it's a new iPad, you might be able to get it swapped out if you find a friendly genius bar.

If its just 1 and not in the middle I wouldn't bother swapping it, I bought an iPad on launch day and I have only just got one that I'm happy with, it has 1 dead pixel in the very top right corner and can only be seen if your looking for it... I have had 12 iPads and they all had something wrong with them

A dead pixel, no. A stuck pixel, possibly.

I have had my iPad since launch day. Yesterday I noticed one (or several grouped together) gray pixel(s). Is this stuck or dead?

    Thanks!

True. And they can also not be prevented. It's a problem on all LCDs. It's up to the user to decide if they're annoying enough to warrant a return. The problem with returning is that you can get another one that has them or develops them again. Just the nature of the beast.
