I bought a 2011 iMac and after 3 weeks and after the graphic display software update there seems to be a dead pixel on my screen. I'm wondering whether it's a dead pixel or dust? It's so tiny that if I take a closer look seems like dead pixel. Can you guys share some insights whether the display does get dead pixels by usage and not manufacturer defect?

its not a dead pixel, its probably a stuck pixel, it'll get released soon , dont worry about it.

did u upgrade your imac's Ram?

no I didn't but upgraded the video driver. Is there a tool to release it or something?

I've noticed that the iMacs are really good at getting rid of dead pixels by themselves. Including the iPads. In the store I work we tend to leave them on for a couple of weeks just to repair themselves. No one quite understands IPS displays :p
