I have just 1 dead pixel on my 7+ screen. Most would not notice it but for some reason my eye always finds it. Is this something Apple does a warranty on?

Got the same problem. One small green dead pixel on black screen on my 7+.

I bought it from my provider (vodafone).
Vodafone will not replace it, because "Apple offers no Damage on Arrival replacement" - Go to Apple.
Apple will not replace it, because I did not bought it directly from Apple. - Go to Vodafone.

I can now rotate around, but I now have to live with an iPhone, that is repaired since day 1... (well actually day 9, but I can't use it anyway... beacuse of the retoure processes..)

Perhaps it's different outside of the States, but I've never heard Apple turn away service and/or recommend going to where you bought it.

Apple made it. They guarantee if from having defect of workmanship for 1 year.

Called AppleCare Support Hotline twice yesterday, and one Apple Store directly.

First to make it clear: Apple did not say "No we are not helping you". They just recommended me to go to Vodafone.

Let me give you my brain note from the calls:

Call1:
- Ok, you can go to your next Apple Store, a technican will look at it and will check if it's better to repair it or replace it.
- Alternatively: You can send it to us directly.
- Our System is down at the moment, would you mind, if you are calling the Apple Store to make a appointment directly?
- Me: k, I will do so.

Call2 (AppleStore):
- No, we cant give you a new iPhone for that, you did not bought it from Apple directly, this is not possible in our systems.
- We can just repair it for you.
- Me: Ok, so I wont take the trip to the Apple Store (1h 50min driving) - I will send it via AppleCare Hotline.

Call3:
- Yes I will make the repair-order, but: did you spoke with vodafone? (yes) - Really? They seriously should replace that. (yes) - Thats strange... I really recommend you to ask there again. (no, I did 4 times now..) - Ok, back to your repair order...

Well thats it..
Maybe german buerocracy?

Yes and if they have just the screen replacement they will replace just the screen. That's if they have them in stock. If not, then they will replace the whole device.

Not sure why they making you go through all that when in fact it's Apple's product. Apple in fact should honor the warranty on your device.

I'm in Aus and had a similar problem with an iPhone out of the box. A 'point of sale' replacement (new in box) was only going to happen if I returned through the carrier. Apple said they would swap for a remanufactured device. I was also expecting a defective out of the box iPhone to be covered by the manufacturer but apparently not

Apple will absolutely honor the warranty, but in the form of repair. If you're within your buyer's remorse period and want to swap it for a brand new device, that needs to be done through the seller. Buyer's remorse is based on the original receipt, which Apple can't do anything with, unless the receipt is from them.

If it isn't caused by you, and it bothers you and you feel you paid enough to get a perfect phone .. sounds like a good reason to trade it up for a new one (make sure it's not refurbished)
